This source was about Gandhi’s speech talking about the Dandi March. I plan to use this in my project because I will quote his words and what he said about the Dandi March on my website. Also, it will help me because I will have a category for speeches and I will put some of his speeches in it. Therefore, this website was a valuable piece of information for my project and I will use it a lot on my website.

This source is a primary source because it is a photograph. All pictures are primary sources because they were taken at the time. The only picture that wouldn’t be a primary source is a picture that isn’t a photograph. I notice that the picture is in black in white so it was taken a long time ago.

It relates to the theme because it shows how Gandhi has the responsibility to keep the British from taking over India and giving the independence. Also, it shows how it relates to the theme because Gandhi believes he has the right to take a picture of himself even though India isn’t free.

This source showed a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. I will use this in my project because I am doing a section on Influence. MLK was a big follower of Gandhi and liked to use the ways that he did. Gandhi knew that he was not just going to have an impact on India.

This primary source helped me see many different pints of view. My topic, Mahatma Gandhi: Rights and Responsibilities in History are very controversial. On one hand there was the side of the people of India and Gandhi. However, another perspective that was pointed out was the view of the British. In conclusion, he mostly talks about the views of India because they won.

The secondary source relates to the theme rights and responsibilities in several ways. First, it relates to the theme because Gandhi is marching to get rid of the salt tax that the British made about not being able to take salt from the beaches. Also, because Gandhi felt it was his responsibility to help India be free and have equal rights. Lastly, it relates to the theme of rights and responsibilities because all the different religions in India came together to defeat the British and to not let the British control them. Overall this picture was important because it shows the defiance of India and Gandhi.

It helped me with my research because it was about his whole life so I got to learn background knowledge about him and how he became a leader. Also, it will help with my project because I can put the information on the Salt March in a tab that I am going to make on my website. Overall, this book was a good source because it had background knowledge and facts about rights and responsibilities in it.

One of the most valuable pieces of information I read was the Hindus and Muslims were constantly fighting because he couldn’t free India without every one working together. It helped me with my research because this website had everything about his life and all the steps of him giving India independence. The most thought provoking thing the author mentioned was Gandhi had to decide what to march against of all the things there were. In conclusion, Gandhi had to think and plan the marching he didn’t just go and do it.

This secondary source discusses Gandhi’s main achievements. First, the author points out that after Gandhi was in South Africa and involved with politics he came back to India forever. In addition the author emphasizes that after Gandhi was released from six years in jail he quit his devotion to politics and focused on improving India. Finally, the article concludes that Gandhi was assassinated in 1942. This helped me understand my topic because I didn’t know much information about Gandhi and this helped me understand him.

In this source I learned how Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. are alike in ways. One of the most valuable pieces of information I read was Gandhi first started fighting in South Africa for Asians. Also, both were murdered spite the fact that they were both peacefully protesting and didn’t mean to cause violence in any means. Lastly, it relates to the theme rights and responsibilities because they were both fighting for rights and freedom in different countries. Overall, they both peacefully protested and both achieved their goals.
